Carolina Tiger Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit wildlife sanctuary whose mission is saving and protecting wild cats in captivity and in the wild.
We noticed some of our small cats were carrying a few extra pounds. We then introduced them to an exercise routine that has worked well! When our keepers feed these particular cats, which are typically off tour and away from the action, they will essentially do laps around the animal’s enclosure. Keepers will walk along the enclosure with the cat’s meal to get them up and moving. Some cats can keep up even after six laps, while others may need a breather after just one or two. The purpose is to keep them fit, active and healthy! See more with Keeper Larissa as she exercises with Hobie and Daxon Servals.
