Carolina Tiger Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit wildlife sanctuary whose mission is saving and protecting wild cats in captivity and in the wild.
No two tigers have the same stripes — and it’s how Carolina Tiger Rescue staff can identify some of the residents, especially if a tiger has an enclosure mate. Some of the pairs that live together also look very similar, like Mona and Moki or Mila and Riley. Tiger stripes are also unique because, well, they aren’t really stripes. They are technically elongated spots! Our education director shares how she uses the cats’ cool stripes to identify five different resident tigers!
