Create a personal connection with an amazing wild animal when you adopt a resident at Carolina Tiger Rescue!

With your symbolic adoption, you will be able to form a very special and lifelong relationship with a wonderful animal. Your generosity is much appreciated and will allow us to continue to care for these beautiful animals.

The annual commitment to adopt an animal is as follows:

Large Cats

Tigers, Lions, Cougars
$1,500/yr

Small Cats

Caracals, Servals, Ocelots, Bobcats
$1,200/yr

Other Animals

Kinkajous, Coatimundis, Porcupine
$900/yr

Adoption is an annual commitment for the lifetime of an individual animal. The cost of adoption is based on the size of the animal and reflects the typical cost of care. Adopted animals remain at Carolina Tiger Rescue in the care of the keeper staff. After an in-depth orientation, adoptive parents are allowed to visit their animal and will be trained to interact safely with their animal. Adoptive parents also receive a photo of their animal, an adoption certificate, and periodic updates on their animal.

We encourage you to call or email for details to be sure the Adoption Program is a good fit with what you have in mind before you send an adoption donation. For questions about the Adoption Program, including information to help select your animal, please contact Heidi Zangara or call (919) 542-4684 x 3010.

  • We believe it is critical to conserve their native habitats.
  • We believe wild animals should not be kept as pets.
  • We believe captive breeding should ONLY be done in accordance with Species Survival plans.
  • We believe all wild animals, both captive and in their native habitats, deserve to be treated with respect and not exploited for entertainment and commercial purposes.

Virtual Field Trips

Education is key to our mission.  We enjoy teaching "kids" of all ages!  Our field trips, both virtual and onsite, are ideal for groups of kids.  Our "Kid for a Day" Adult Camp provides a unique learning opportunity while allowing adults to channel their inner child.  While all of these opportunities are structured differently, in the end we want everyone to walk away knowing more about the animals we care for and what they can do to help protect them.

Group Volunteering

There are so many ways to be a part of Carolina  Tiger Rescue.  Individual volunteers are able to help in many aspects of our work, including animal care, tour guides, construction, and gift shop assistance.  Work groups come from community groups, colleges, work places, and more!  It’s a great way to spend a day and it helps care for the cats.
