Tessa Stripes is our newest animal keeper here at Carolina Tiger Rescue. She studied wildlife biology at Virginia Tech. Before coming to Carolina Tiger Rescue, she interned at Wildlife Safari. Her favorite animals to work with are tigers! She enjoys giving the animals at Carolina Tiger Rescue a safe and appropriate home for them. It’s a hard and dirty job, but she loves it! Her favorite time of year at the rescue is the fall, when all the animals get pumpkins for enrichment!

Keeper Tessa here and I have some very exciting news to share with you all! At the end of September, Carolina Tiger Rescue welcomed 4 new bobcat residents to their forever home. All four bobcats were privately owned by an individual in Texas and word came through that they needed to find a new home. In-Sync Exotics, a big cat sanctuary in Texas, was able to help out by picking up the bobcats in Texas a transporting them over 17 hours to Pittsboro, North Carolina.

We have not made any decisions about their names and will share that information with you all as soon as we know more. In the meantime, we can share that they are in age range from about one and a half years old to five years and have lived together their whole lives. They are currently living together in quarantine and settling in well and we can’t wait to introduce them to their new enclosure in the sanctuary. We are excited to get to know these four beautiful cats and can’t wait to share more about them with you all soon!
