Dr. Chloe Wilde is our wildlife biologist. She studied ecology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Her favorite topic of study is conservation. Dr. Wilde is passionate about learning about and teaching others about how they can help wild cat populations, including reducing their use of products with palm oil in them. Though Carolina Tiger Rescue does not have any, Dr. Wilde’s favorite animal to study is the clouded leopard.

The seven servals have names!

To name an animal, we collect name suggestions then staff members cast a vote for their favorite option. We had many, many names to choose from for the new servals. The winning group of names keeps with the musical theme of a few of our other residents. We already have Elvis and Santana Serval and Madonna Tiger which are all names of famous singers or bands.

Without further ado, the new names are…drumroll please…Mick, Bowie, Dylan, Blondie, Stevie, Queen, and Cher. The seven servals are quite vocal; it’s very fitting that they were named after famous vocalists!
